| Fair Trade & Ethical Trading |
Vendesent stock a number of items within the Fair Trade scheme from coffee beans, to in cup instant products. Not just coffee but tea and chocolate products too.
While we are pleased to supply this range and offer customers a greater choice, this is not the only form of ethical trading we are involved in.
In addition to Fair Trade products, we also have ethically traded coffee and tea from the Ethical Tea Partnership.
The Beverage Service Association published this statement in February 2006...
The BSA wholeheartedly supports the principle of fairly traded coffee. The Association believes that all peoples involved in the growing, processing, shipping, importing, roasting and distribution of coffee throughout the world should be fairly rewarded for their labour. The Association condemns any form of exploitation of workers or peasant farmers who depend wholly or in part in the growing and production of coffee and related products.
The Association welcomes and supports the efforts of the Fairtrade Foundation in creating equitable trading terms and conditions and the furtherance of Healthcare and Educational programmes in the areas where the Foundation sources its coffee. However, the Association’s support for the Foundation in no way implies that other coffees are in anyway unfairly traded. The Association’s members purchase and trade in coffees from every country in the world where coffee is commercially grown whereas the Fairtrade Foundation sources from a limited number of countries and growers specifically identified and monitored by the Foundation.
The Association believes that by promoting the consumption of coffee throughout the world at fair prices, all those involved in the industry, from the plant to the cup, will benefit.
